Our commitment to change

We love to create powerful and meaningful experiences for our clients, but we are not blind to the fact that our industry creates challenges when it comes to environmental impact. We are determined to challenge the assumption that you cannot create something impactful without damaging the natural world.

We recognise the precipice at which we find ourselves and the importance of an ongoing commitment to change to secure the future of our planet and the human race.

We recognise that we need to continually evolve the way we do business and the way in which we behave as individuals.

This is not easy, particularly in the events industry, but it starts with an intention to be better.

In 2021 we launched
our 2030 Pledge,

laying down our ambition and the steps we commit to in our mission to deliver
#ImpactWithoutImpact and we’ve been working with a dedicated sustainability
partner since 2022.

our footprint

We commit to reducing the footprint we leave as an organisation on the world around us. By 2030 we are aiming to:

  • be zero to landfill
  • have achieved NetZero, and
  • remove all single use plastic from our manufacturing process and facility

our community

Our community consists of our employees, clients, suppliers, partners and our local area.

We are committed to educating our community in how they can each take steps towards a sustainable future as a partner to Event Concept and as individuals.

with our clients

We are always asking ourselves ‘What’s Next?’ and as part of our 2030 Pledge we are committed to partnering with our clients to find sustainable solutions.

Sustainability doesn’t have to equal boring – using creative thinking and new technologies we partner with our clients to deliver #ImpactWithoutImpact.

It’s not going to be easy but we can do it together. We don’t have all the answers, we openly acknowledge there may be gaps in our roadmap, and there will be challenges to overcome. With the support of our community and the dedication of our team we will deliver on Our 2030 Pledge.

Commitment to data

Promises are easy and while we know that real change starts with a commitment, we also appreciate that it really doesn’t mean much without the data. We undertake comprehensive internal audits, assessing our ongoing progress whilst working with our sustainability partner on our carbon measurement, reduction, and offsetting.

This is laid down in our annual Impact Report as a transparent window on our data and journey towards embedding sustainable practices into every element of our business.

We have held our ISO 14001 in Environmental Management for 6 years, and we continue to explore how we take our existing process and governance and align it with delivering our goals.

Carbon neutral

We are certified as Carbon Neutral.

We are working with Positive Planet to offset our emissions from 2022, planting over 10,000 trees and removing over 10,000 pieces of plastic from the oceans. While we do not believe that offsetting is a viable long-term solution, we do plan to offset our emissions while we work towards Net Zero.

Carbon literate

We are certified as Carbon Literate.

We are proud to be a Carbon Literate Organisation which means we are putting our team through a Carbon Literacy programme.

This allows us to embed a culture of sustainable practice from the heart of our organisation.

“Never before have we had such an awareness of what we are doing to the planet, and never before have we had the power to do something about that. Surely we all have responsibility to care for our Blue Planet. The future of humanity and indeed, all life on earth, now depends on us.”

Sir David Atenborough

“As an employee it is really inspiring that we are taking the lead and challenging ourselves to make a better future. With each department’s small changes we can make a big differecne.”

Kelly Sluman, Operations Manager

“I am proud of the commitment we have made to a sustainable future. It lies at the heart of our business strategy. We are focussed on changing the way we work, reducing our footprint and collaborating with our clients on creative and innovative projects with conscience.”

Adam Stanley, Managing Director, EC

“It’s great to be part of a company that not only recognises the need to change but is making a stand and leading on it. We are embracing the challenge to create #ImpactWithoutImpact and I am incredibly excited to see what extraordinary experiences we will create for our clients in doing so. What an inspiring venture to be involved in.”
