The Challenge

Mattel wanted to showcase the world-famous Barbie brand’s fashion element as part of Brand Licensing Europe 2018. The event was also used to launch the cultural icon’s two-part 60th anniversary campaign.

Our Insight

In order to show licensee and retail partners the potential for the next stage of growth, we needed to show how Barbie inspires the limitless potential in every girl.

Our Solution

We brought the world of Barbie to life with a fashion show and reception event at The Saatchi Gallery. A glossy white runway, video projections and sleek seating provided an engaging kids’ catwalk show. Barbie’s favourite colour took centre stage with a pink carpet, a pink step-and-repeat, and sensitive pink lighting. Our sound and video experts ensured presentations on the technical aspects of the brand were delivered by leading company spokespeople in high definition and with crystal clear sound.

The Experience

Playful details like a ‘Barbie Box’ entrance, Barbie canapé holders and a living wall that meant guests could pose like their icon and have just as much fun as the kids on the runway. With Barbie inspiring girls to be anything from princess to president, key guests from retail juggernauts, such as Sainsbury’s and Argos, were delighted to take a little piece of Barbie home with chocolate party favours.
